Dear Friends,

It is a pleasure to bring you volume 5, issue 2 of Journal of Skin and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (JSSTD). It is heartening to see this dream-child of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) Kerala, completing its 5th year of life.

Looking back, it was a privilege to be associated with the journal in its infancy. I had the fortune to serve JSSTD as one of the Associate Editors during the initial 3 years, and then as the Editor-in-Chief during the past 2 years. Since its inception, the journal has been able to publish quality articles and all the issues till date could be brought out on time. Huge credit to the same goes to the respective editorial teams, and to our esteemed authors and dedicated reviewers. JSSTD has already earned a place for itself in the world of scientific literature; however, we have to go a long way forward.

The time has come for a change of guard. I am handing over the reins of JSSTD to the capable hands of Dr. K. Ajithkumar, who has been serving as the Editor-Elect of the Journal since November 2022. Dr. Ajithkumar is the apt person to take JSSTD to greater heights and I am sure that with the support and blessings of each and every IADVL Kerala member, the new editorial team would attain this goal.

I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the past and current presidents, secretaries, and executive committees, and each and every member of IADVL Kerala, for the unconditional support extended to the editorial team. I express heartfelt gratitude to my team for their commitment and dedication, which is reflected in the stature enjoyed by JSSTD today. I have no words to express my appreciation for our esteemed authors and reviewers, who have remained the heart and soul of JSSTD. I would like to put on record my sincere appreciation and gratitude to our publisher “Scientific Scholar” and the founding CEO, Mr. Pritesh Sheth for the brilliant editorial platform and the smooth and efficient manuscript management system. We acknowledge that without “Scientific Scholar”, the journey would not have been so enjoyable.

Thanking you all once again and wishing all success to the new editorial team,

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Sarita Sasidharanpillai,

Editor in Chief, JSSTD.
